Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese striker, will join Al Nassr football in Saudi Arabia on January 1, 2023, according to the Jeddah-based Saudi Gazette, which cited Spanish media.
According to the paper’s web edition, Ronaldo will sign a $217 million, 2-1/2 year contract with the Saudi club.
The football star would, according to the Spanish sports daily newspaper Marca, “before the year is over.”
The striker broke his links with Manchester United just a few days before the World Cup in Qatar, giving him the freedom to negotiate with any team.
Al-Nassr initially showed greater interest despite claims that Champions League clubs would be lining up to sign him.
Ronaldo had planned to carry on playing in Europe’s top club competition.
